Experience life as it was during the period of 1760-1840. Come join in the excitement of an authentic historical re-enactors encampment.
Re-creators of living history from around the mid-Atlantic region will make camp around the grounds of the historic Hays House. The encampment will include a variety of pre-1840 trades people who will demonstrate the professions, customs, wares and chores of that time. Copies of the recently discovered letters written by Thomas Jefferson to Zebulon Holhngsworth at Elk Landing will be on display. The demonstrations may include:

|Basketry||Sutlers (period wares for sale)|
|Lead Ball Pouring||Powder horn making|
This event is made possible in part by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council and Harford County Government through the Harford County Cultural Advisory Board. It is also funded by The Historical Society of Harford County, Inc. and receives support from the Town of Bel Air, the Harford County Board of Education, Bel Air High School and the Docents of the Hays House.
