We Have a Wish List!

The mission of the Hays House Museum is to be a history-in-action museum and a valuable educational resource that actively illustrates and recreates to the extent possible the social, cultural, economic, and practical aspects of the daily life of rural gentry during the historical period 1788 – 1820. To achieve this mission, we not only need diverse volunteers, we also need material goods.

The Hays House Museum has an impressive Wish List, and ambitious Future Plans. If you can donate any of the items on the short list below, or if you can offer other assistance with material goods or funding, please complete our INFORMATION REQUEST FORM .

  • Funding to continue with restoration of the interior of the Hays House Museum
  • Furniture and furnishing, 1788-1825
  • Hardware, 1788-1825
  • Canister vacuum cleaner
The Hays House is furnished entirely with items donated to the Historical Society
over the years. This well-preserved rope bed, which has helped transform the
children’s bedroom, is a recent donation from a generous supporter.
